Accounting Clerk

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to join our Finance team as an Accounting Clerk.

This position has the primary responsibility of providing data entry and general accounting transaction processing support. Other duties include cash receipt processing, collecting, sorting, and distributing mail, receptionist support, and maintaining accounting office files.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize competing projects with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and provide excellent customer service.

The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience. College coursework in business or related fields is desirable. An Associate's Degree in Accounting is preferred. Three to five years of experience in accounts payable accounts receivable, receipting, or other accounting-related clerical knowledge is a must. Non-Profit clerical accounting experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in automated accounting systems, and MS Office, and good verbal and written communication skills. Salary commensurate with experience.
