Employment Specialist - SCC

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to join our St. Clair County team as an Employment Specialist.

This position will prepare and assist our clients in securing jobs and have the opportunity to adequately support themselves and their families; live in neighborhoods that are vibrant and thriving; and share in the region's prosperity and well-being.

The Employment Specialist will provide services to include development and implementation strategies to achieve contractual goals leading to placement opportunities for clients. Program planning and evaluation, report writing, client documentation, coordination and monitoring of service delivery with partnering agencies.

The ideal candidate must have:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of casework concepts
• Skills and techniques needed to be successful in current workforce
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature
• Knowledge of common software applications
• An associate degree or some college coursework in a related field is desirable, a bachelor's degree is preferred
