Grant Accountant
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to join our Finance team as a Grant Accountant.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform accrual-based accounting functions for federal, state, and local grant-funded programs.
- Preparing program reimbursement requests.
- Process and review cash activity associated with grant-funded programs.
- Prepare journal entries, financial statements, and other accounting-related functions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3 - 5 years of accounting experience working with federal, state, and local grants.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, COSO Internal Control Framework, and federal and state financial standards and regulations.
- Proficient in automated accounting systems with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Non-profit accounting experience is preferred, and knowledge of Federal Grant Accounting is desired.
