Outreach Supervisor, Serving Our Streets

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking qualified individuals to work as an Outreach Supervisor within the St. Louis Serving Our Streets Gun Violence De-Escalation Unit, promoting community empowerment and stabilization through various initiatives.

The Outreach Supervisor will promote the above initiatives by:

• Plan the day-to-day and week-to-week activities with and for the outreach staff
• Plan and hold daily meetings to review current department project needs.
• Connect with additional resources from neighboring communities to get needed support, when necessary
• Supervise staff of Serving Our Streets Department.
• Perform strategic partnerships to the community to build strong relationships with businesses, and community groups
• Coordinate efforts to establish Block Units in Jeff VanderLou, Walnut Park, and Clinton-Peabody neighborhoods
• Advocate for youth through court testimonies, when necessary
• Compile weekly reports on all programs implemented through Serving Our Streets Initiative
• Develop a resource counsel of social service agencies to assist in the mission of Serving Our Streets

Qualifications:

• BS in a Human Services field (i.e., Sociology, Social Work, etc.) or equivalent experience
• Must be a credible/suitable and respected individual in the target area.
• Extensive experience working with families in challenged neighborhoods
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience and/or training in crisis intervention and staff supervision
• Valid Illinois driver's license, insurance, and good driving record
• No pending criminal cases or prior convictions for domestic violence (within 10 years) or prior convictions for sexual assault or child abuse.
