Receptionist

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as a receptionist to support Ferguson Community Empowerment Center.

The receptionist will:

• Perform clerical duties including the reception and evaluation of inquiries.
• Providing information and assistance as requested, the initial point of inquiry for the campus, Schedule appointments, maintaining calendars, communicating with individuals involved in all aspects of programming – children, parents, grantors, funders, partner agencies, members of the community, and Urban League team members.
• Qualified individuals must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and a wide range of experience managing clerical responsibilities while demonstrating tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature.

The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma. At least one year of experience in the administrative/customer service field is required, college coursework is desirable.
