Senior Job Developer

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as a Senior Job Developer.

This position will support our Save Our Sons program which seeks to help African Americans and other men secure jobs and have the opportunity to adequately support themselves and their families; live in neighborhoods that are vibrant and thriving and share in the region's prosperity and well-being.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for job placement, considering current market trends and employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to align job development initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure the team is well-equipped with the latest industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Act as a key advocate for clients, ensuring their unique needs and challenges are understood and addressed in the job development process.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and other stakeholders to create a support network for clients.
  • Continuously assess and enhance job development programs, incorporating client, employer, and team member feedback.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and incorporate innovative approaches to job development and placement.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to job development activities, providing regular reports to organizational leadership.
  • Use data insights to make informed decisions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Represent the agency at community events, job fairs, and industry conferences to foster partnerships and promote the agency's mission.
  • Identify and explore new opportunities for collaboration with community agencies and employers.
  • Stay informed about relevant employment laws, regulations, and policies, advocating for positive changes that benefit clients and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with policymakers and advocacy groups to shape workforce development policies.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the job development team, encouraging creativity and innovation in approaching client needs and program effectiveness.

Candidates must have:

  • An associate's in business, human services or related field is required, a bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Three years of experience in workforce development with a proven track record of successful job placement.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • demonstrate tact and discretion when handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature; knowledge of computers and software applications, as well as the ability to write reports and business correspondence.
