Technology Support Specialist

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion as a Technology Support Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of the Agency' computers and network by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating technology issues.
  • Resolving logged errors in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
  • Updating computer software as well as upgrading hardware and systems.
  • Maintaining databases and ensuring system security.
  • Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Train staff in how to use the new software and hardware developed and/or acquired.
  • Ensure the proper function of the Agency's technology (e.g. desktops, laptops, printers, SMART Boards, projectors, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot any problems related to various Local Area Networks (LAN)
  • Maintain the physical environment for all network infrastructure (power, climate, and safety)
  • Troubleshoot network user and computer account issues.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Consult with third party technical support to resolve hardware, software, and warranty issues.
  • Install approved software as requested in accordance with technology policies.
  • Performs troubleshooting of staff support tickets to include documenting the issue, investigation of cause, troubleshooting, and steps taken to resolve the issue.
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for Agency to take advantage of new technology.
  • Maintains records of data communication transactions, problems, and remedial action is taken and installation activities.
  • Inspects equipment and reads order sheets to prepare for delivery to users.
  • Maintains inventory of all computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
  • Experience monitoring and installing data communication equipment and software.
  • Must be able to travel between sites.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and experience:

  • Windows 10/11 support and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office Application 2016+ support and Troubleshooting
  • Office 365 familiarity
  • Basic Computer Network Troubleshooting
  • Network Printer Configurations and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Exchange mailbox management
  • Active Directory user management
  • Familiarity the Conference room technology: Crestron, Barco, Microsoft Teams Room
  • Experience in Non-Profit Line of Business specific applications
